TestCentralTM provides a flexible test-case management system. Testers are able to house a set of automated tests, distribute these tests to client systems for execution, and review consolidated testing results. TestCentral is configured and customized to each client's individual project settings and allows users to generate multiple permutations of a given test from these settings. Testers may launch tests from multiple test automation tools (such as Quick Test Pro, Selenium, and Perl) TestCentral's open architecture allows for expansion of test drivers in the future to many other automation tools.
Built on the Microsoft® .NET 2.0 Platform and SQL Server 2005® TestCentral uses a web-service for communications between remote LaunchPadTM client agents and the test queue. This enables distributed processing and allows one tester to run many tests concurrently, reducing the time to completion of each test pass.
TestCentral is an evolution in Test Automation best practices based on 10+ years of test automation experience. It streamlines the maintenance process by allowing fewer files to be maintained and permutations of those base files to be generated on the fly as needed from data about the project. The rules for generating permutations can be n-tiered allowing for greater flexibility and approaching model based testing.
