Doug Turner - Principal

As a principal with Mantis, Doug’s current responsibilities include corporate strategy, finance, business development and client management. Prior to joining Mantis, Doug was Senior Vice President and co-founder of MessageGate Inc., a venture-backed software solution provider specializing in enterprise messaging security and compliance solutions. Doug was part of the original founding team at MessageGate and co-led the fundraising effort from venture leaders including Polaris Venture Partners, Newbury Ventures and Northwest Venture Associates. Prior to MessageGate, Doug was VP of Product Management and Strategy at Compuware Corporation an enterprise software solution provider with more than $1 billion in annual revenue.

Before joining Compuware, Doug held key management positions at Direct Technology Limited (acquired by Compuware) and Sterling Software (acquired by Computer Associates). Doug earned a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Randy Stauffer - Principal

As a principal with Mantis, he is currently responsible for the operations and support organization, working directly with our customers to ensure satisfaction on all Mantis solutions and services.

Prior to Mantis, Randy was with The Boeing Company in their Commercial Airplane Group managing a team responsible for the design, development and sustainment of scheduling applications. Randy left Boeing to join McCaw Cellular Communications where he led a team responsible for critical business systems to McCaw's operations including: scheduling, finance, knowledge management, reporting, RF and E911.

After AT&T acquired McCaw, Randy stayed at the new company, AT&T Wireless, to manage their performance engineering group. Randy's led a team responsible for the development of network management systems for all major network elements within the AT&T communications network. Randy left AWS in 2003 to join Mantis as VP of Operations. Randy earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business from Washington State University.

Brian Vickery - Principal

As a principal with Mantis, Brian's current responsibilities include technical strategy, architecture and management of the company's software development efforts. Brian's specialty is rapid application development, which enables efficient translation of business requirements into a working prototype. Brian woks closely with users, in an agile and iterative process, to provide the most effective solutions in a dynamic business environment. Over his career, Brian has focused significant attention on project management and application development for wireless cell site build-outs including delivery of an enterprise wide solution providing capital planning, project scheduling and warranty management while interfacing directly with enterprise systems including Oracle Financials and Primavera.

Before joining Mantis, Brian held senior software development and consulting positions with Fluor Daniel, Sybase and AT&T Wireless. Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Scott Ely – Director of Enterprise Solutions Delivery

As Director of Enterprise Solutions Delivery, Scott is responsible for overseeing Mantis? corporate offerings and capabilities of our on-site projects and teams within our key Enterprise customers. Scott works directly with key clients including Microsoft to ensure Mantis provides the best solutions and personnel to deliver on their long term organizational goals from strategic planning to custom software development and user experience.

Planning on sustainable growth, Scott is taking the proven Mantis technical expertise and applying it in innovative ways to Enterprise customers via defined practices, solution offerings and services that increase predictability and improve overall ROI for engaging with Mantis. Building these practices includes strategic partnerships, marketing, consultant recruiting, methodology improvement and managing the daily operations of the practice teams including, setting technical vision and strategy, improving the business infrastructure and helping to create and implement the Mantis Adaptive Delivery Lifecycle (ADL) in our customer environments.

Prior to Mantis, Scott held key development positions at Compuware, Microsoft and MessageGate. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Programming and Communication Studies from Eastern Washington University.

Tipton Loo - Director of Architecture & Development

Tipton has more than 15 years experience in software engineering, and architecture involving large scale applications in the telecommunications industry (both wire line and wireless).

As the Director of Architecture and Development, Tipton is responsible for setting company and service standards, and for the design and architectural direction of the company's products. Tipton is also involved in helping set the company's technical vision, strategy and business development. Tipton is a big proponent of reusability and rapid application design and development and is very customer centric.

Before joining Mantis, Tipton worked for Cingular (now AT&T), joining AT&T Wireless' Network Services Performance Engineering group in 1995 and was one of 2 engineers who built the company's first web-based application for network performance management. At Cingular, Tipton later became the development manager in the IT Fraud and Compliance group managing and co-architecting the company's standard CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act) applications for wiretaps.

Prior to AT&T Wireless, Tipton worked as a senior software engineer developing network management tools for the wire line telecommunications industry.

Tipton holds Bachelors of Science degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Indiana State University.

Paul Ramirez – Director of Program and Project Management

As Director of PMO, Paul is responsible for the intake, management and overall delivery of solutions to our customers, through the effective management of customer expectations, efficient internal processes and resources.

Paul’s strategic vision is that the company’s processes, the Adaptive Delivery Lifecycle (ADL), and dynamic corporate culture are enablers of our highly intelligent, capable and solution focused staff.  Paul is a firm believer that a process should be tailored according to the nature of the customer engagement, and that both agile and traditional project methodologies have their place. His strategic contributions to Mantis include, project management methodology, resource management, business strategy, open team communication, continual process improvement and most importantly improving customer relationships.

Prior to joining Mantis in 2003, Paul held key positions at Compuware, Microsoft, AT&T, Cingular and Intuit.  In addition, he has been a consultant to several technology startups. His software development experience encompasses commercial software, custom enterprise solutions, and online financial transactions. He led development teams for Quicken and QuickBooks in multiple markets within the Asia-Pacific region, before focusing on the Project Management discipline. His vertical market experiences include Telecommunications, Accounting, Finance, and Government agencies.

Paul earned his MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and also holds Bachelor degree’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from The University of Sydney, Australia.

Ken Mizell – Director of Quality Assurance

With more than a decade of experience in the design and test phase of software development, he has led teams in fortune 500 companies and in small startup environments.  Ken has performed all types of testing and challenged his teams to change the way companies test software.

As the Director of Quality Assurance, Ken is focused on the measurement of our solution against the goals of our customers.  He is pushing Mantis to constantly improve its internal processes. Through integrity, passion, and intelligence, he is leading the team to challenge existing “best practices” and create “better practices”.  Ken values practical solutions that work.

Prior to joining Mantis, Ken helped Expedia.com revolutionize the way they verify a code release, by designing and implementing an automation framework that increased regression test throughput by 8325%.  Ken was one of the first testers to use test automation to conduct BVT testing and led the company in generating re-usable test parts that could be recombined into additional tests and permutations.  His tools and methodologies were later adopted by the IT operations team to help in monitoring the Expedia suite of sites.  Ken has also worked as a consultant for Microsoft, Boeing, Washington Mutual, Onyx software, and several startup companies.
